Bio­gra­phie

Roo­pa Gogi­n­eni is an Indi­an-Ame­ri­can direc­tor and pho­to­grapher focu­sed on his­to­ri­cal memo­ry and modes of resis­tance. Her films have scree­ned at fes­ti­vals around the world inclu­ding IDFA, SXSW, Hot Docs, Full Frame and Shef­field Doc/Fest. Gogineni’s prac­ti­ce is roo­ted in long-term enga­ge­ment and co-crea­ti­on. Her short film I AM BISHA ear­ned the Oscar-qua­li­fy­ing Full Frame Jury Award for Best Short, a One World Media Award, and a Rory Peck Award.
