Biographie
Maryam Tafakory [b. Iran] works with textual and filmic collages. Screenings of her work include; MoMA Doc Fortnight; IFF Rotterdam; True/False; HKW; M HKA; and Anthology Film Archives amongst others. Awards include Tiger Short at 51st IFFR, Barbara Hammer Feminist Film Award at 60th AAFF, Best Experimental Short at 70th MIFF, and the Fugas Prize at Documenta Madrid, amongst others. She was the Flaherty/Colgate Distinguished Filmmaker in Residence (NY) in 2019, and a MacDowell Fellow in 2022.
