Law­rence Abu Hamd­an is an inde­pen­dent inves­ti­ga­tor or Pri­va­te Ear. His inves­ti­ga­ti­ons focus on sound and lin­gu­i­stics. His work looks into the poli­ti­cal effects of lis­tening, using various kinds of audio to explo­re its effects on human rights and law.
